Kids & Chiropractic
Kids can benefit from chiropractic just like adults!
Ever think about how many falls and blows that kids sustain?
Let us tell you more.
We learned in a prior blog post about how chiropractic can help babies. But now I want to transition into how it can help toddlers and kids! After the first 13 months of life, kids that are developing on track should be walking and gaining more and more skills every single day. For these developing kids, we look at and assess many developmental milestones. These include social/emotional milestones, language/communication milestones, cognitive milestones, and movement/physical development.

So with that, do you know anybody born in the new millennium? How about anybody born this past decade? This population is very physically active. With such ample activity comes a lot of bonking heads, falling, tripping, slipping, and blows to the head. Injuries like these can cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness, or discomfort. And though kids tend to be more resilient than adults, their spinal health is important to address so they don’t grow into adulthood with a spine that has already been compromised with an imbalance of muscle pulling!
·
Many kids also participate in sports! The possible faults in a child’s throw, run, kick, etc. can be caught and addressed early while their muscles and nervous system are very pliable and coachable. So get your child performing at their highest potential by bringing them in for a chiropractic assessment and treatment!

At Chiro CLE we tailor treatment to each patient. There is nothing cookie cutter about what we do. Chiropractic is a highly skilled treatment and in the case of kids and babies, it is very gentle. Of course as a child grows, the force increases little by little, to suit the size of the child. If you have any questions on the safety of adjustments to children, please visit our prior blog post, “Babies & Chiropractic”.

In the video below, chiropractic adjustments on a baby vs. a kid is shown. You can see the differences in technique and force used for the different areas of the spine depending on the size of the child. If you refer to our prior blog post, “Babies & Chiropractic”, you can read more into the who, what, where, and why of treatment. Adjustments are not the only thing done at Chiro CLE to treat kiddos, and sometimes they aren’t used because they may not be needed. It all depends on how the child is developing!
